Hi there here's a message to the youth of Canada. Not all young people but those who seem confused and or disillusioned with the system or the candidates who are running in this next election. For this post I am going to leave out, as much as possible, the politics of our southern neighbor. You might wonder a number of things the first one: Is going to vote even worth the time? You will hear many older people say that your vote doesn't mean much because if you live anywhere but Ontario and Quebec it won't change the outcome! True Ontario and Quebec have the majority of seats in the house of commons so when there is a majority of which ever party it is a sealed deal for the rest of Canada right? Well although Ontario has a total of 122 seats you would still need 173 seats to have a majority. So Yes the voting in all of the other territories and provinces counts sometimes more sometimes less but count it does. I hope I have those numbers right....
I want to take myself back a number of years but with the tech that I have now. It would be amazing also fraught with horrible turns.....ending up in an "Area 51" being examined by the "Man"! What a fantasy and yet some would say that the tech we have now is from alien beings ! What I have to say about that is this. Or Is this like a Dr. Who episode? Perhaps their silence is a product of some evil or divine plan involving earth. So if we are fore warned we would screw up this plan? Truthfully we know so little about the actual structure of the universe that truly anything is still possible. But it doesn't mean the pyramids' were erected directly by alien beings w...
You have probably heard the term "populist" but do you know what it means and how to spot it, do you think it's bad, good or really doesn't matter? Is populism something new? Let's define populist. The broad definition is simply a party or leader that's for the people. Before 1892 and the presidency of Andrew "Old Hickory" Jackson you don't see the term being used but Jackson was really trying to fight for the common voter by attempting to shut down the central bank and reform or abolish the electoral college so the term "populist" fit. Unfortunately I didn't see it used again to describe a leader of a country until Hitler. You might be thinking wasn't the French revolution for the people? Yes it occurred before Jackson's presidency but it wasn't a populist leader or party it was a "revolution". A violent revolution which failed and came back for a second try and of course there was the revolution i...
