Who are these people und what do they stand for? part one

So there is an ELECTION coming to our beloved province.
As usual I am wondering who the candidates are?????????

To be fair if I registered with anyone party I could find out plenty about any one of the platforms but how much info can a simple fellow like myself get in order to make an informed choice without having to pledge allegiance to a specific party?

I tried this a few years ago and recently had little luck in finding out much about the Wild Rose Party of Alberta none the less I will try again.
That will be later as I will start with my favorite party!

Lets see if they have a candidate running in this province?
Well it seems not a green party but a member of the international Green party. Here's their page http://evergreenparty.ca/

So right off the Greens have a slick national website http://www.greenparty.ca/riding/48001

I found, with very little looking, my riding info and yes there is a woman running in my riding! Too bad not provincially!

And she has the coolest name!
Jule Asterisk!

What does Jule's party have for a platform?
Here's an excerpt from the introduction to the policy platform:

"Canadians have disengaged from their own democracy because election after election we have been offered negative politicking in place of a real vision for our country. There is an alternative."

The feel I get from this party, no extremes of emotion but rather a more rational approach, fairness is usually very easy to see but far to often we are blinded by emotion and self interest.

Are the Greens just Socialists?

I'd say no and if I were to describe the direction of the party in comparable terms I would say they seem to be a thinking persons NDP.
I don't want to be dismissive or mean I just find the NDP to be a bit too worker focused and yet aren't supported by a majority of the blue collar workers in this country.
But I'm not reviewing the NDP here.

Do the Greens have a clear vision and decisive plan to achieve this vision?

The Greens have a lot of text so I have to do some real work and read through the site and report back.

So after looking at some of the pages
                                     I find myself wondering
"Where's the beef"
or more correctly "Where's the bait?".

None of the points on the site really grabbed my imagination.
I'm not looking for someone to stir my heart but a group who are thinking in new ways.
I want to see progressive thinking coming out in the text through details.
I am getting generalities instead of detail a scattergun blast of ideas and some of those seem vague
but
it is a very new party.
This is primarily why I support this party it's the newness of the party it's self
and I like their logo.
In being young it's likely to be more malleable than the old school parties and so could be a vehicle for some real change in direction by giving a clear view of today and innovative thinking that takes us to tomorrow.
Here's the catch!
None of the parties have a monopoly on brains or creative chutzpah but they do have affiliations and as the NDP is the workers party the next site to visit will be the "Big Business Party" better known as The Progressive Conservative Party led by a lady with an impressive resume, Premier Allison Redford.
